iPhone OS 3.1 update already in beta
 Just a few weeks after releasing the new iPhone OS 3.0, Apple rolls out a beta of version 3.1. Here are some of the updates.
• the option to save a copy of the edited video, leaving the original intact
• Voice Control now works over Bluetooth
• Faster boot time
• iPhone vibrates when moving icons
• Updated AT&T profile to 4.2
• Updated modem firmware to 5.08.01
• Improvements to OpenGL and Quartz.
• APIs to allow third party apps to access videos and edit them.

Happy 30th Birthday To The Walkman
 In many ways, the Walkman is the precursor to the MP3 explosion, and the iPod dominance we see today.
However, Sony - the company that had a huge head start on all this portable music stuff is now struggling. Today Apple dominates the portable music space by attacting all the "cool" people. It begs the question, where will Apple be in 10 years when today's cool people are considered lame?
