Larry Johnson Fired From Chiefs For Exercising Freedom Of Speech
Football player Larry Johnson, who used to play for the Kansas City Chiefs has recently been released from his contract for allegedly calling someone a 'fag' on his twitter page. The reference was supposedly aimed at members of the media who have expressed disdain for Larry's tactics on and off the field. According to one source:
“We made a decision to release Larry Johnson from his contract,” Kansas City said head coach Todd Haley told a news conference on Monday. “Over the last couple of weeks (general manager) Scott (Pioli) and I have expended a lot of time and energy, along with (board chairman) Clark Hunt, talking about this and figuring out the direction to go. “We decided it was in the best interests of the Kansas City Chiefs organization to move forward. It was the totality of the situation and even before I was around here.”
Apparaently, America isn't the home of free speech we thought it was. One guy can get on the radio and spew all kinds of hate speech towards anyone who isn't a white male *cough* Limbaugh *cough*, and another guy tells jokes on his Twitter account. How in the world do these guys come up with this stuff?

Precious Pulls In $1.8 Milli Opening Weekend
“Precious” debuted this weekend at the movies and did $1.8 million. It didn’t make the top three but that is pretty damn good for a movie that was only released in 18 theaters around the US. The specialty box office was on fire this weekend as Lionsgate’s Precious (Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire) opened with $1.8 million from 18 locations for a record-breaking $100,000 per location average. Precious is the sad story of an overweight, illiterate teenager expecting her second child. The result of being raped by her father, her mother is just as bad (if not worse), she also abuses her physically and mentally. Things change for Precious when she gets the chance to attend a special high school program.
$100K per location ain't bad, anyone wondering why this wasn't a national release like the other movies in the box office this weekend?
