You know what,I understand what he's saying. Obviously his own mother thought he would be a loser. And this teaher told him, "You know what"! You are going to make something of yourself! so D.L. used it as inspiration to be successful. There's Nothing wrong with showing a little emotion.

Everyone should see this story. Sometimes your family can be your worst ememy by using their words to tear you down. It takes an exceptional person to be encouraging to someone else and not except anything in return. People don't realize how much words can help or hurt someone. I understand exactly how he feels!! I've had that same experience with my own mother looking down on me and telling me to my face that I'll never amount to anything, and being at the lowest point of my life and starting to believe her hurtful words were true. But I'm grateful to one friend for helping me to see my true worth. I applaude him for being able to show emotion and not trying to act all hard like most men who think crying is something men shouldn't do.
